It stores, processes, manages and aggregates data for subsequent use through reporting or integration into other information systems. The global data warehouse ensures that the specific prerequisites for analytical data processing are met through tools and fulfils the needs of integrated modules such as Business Intelligence (BI) and the G3D platform.
The Global Data Warehouse derives its content from transactional and reference systems. It integrates across the entire company, not just within individual departments. Data is segmented by type, not by the applications in which it originated. Data is integrated into the global data warehouse from production databases or other external sources and is retained throughout its lifetime. The Global Data Warehouse module provides online access for all applications to data that can be efficiently mined through analytics tools. This is the core functionality for data collection and control.
